Rise up, Hamil-fam! The live Broadway recording of award-winning musical Hamilton is finally going to be streamed online!
Creator and lead star Lin-Manuel Miranda made the announcement on Twitter today, May 12, revealing its premiere date and where it will be streamed.

Originally, the film, which was recorded live on stage at the Richard Rodgers Theater with the original Broadway cast, was scheduled to have a theatrical release in October 2021. But with everyone stuck at home amid the ongoing public health crisis, it seems that there was no better time than now to show it.
Hamilton the Musical has become a pop culture phenomenon within the five years since it premiered on the Broadway stage. It went on to be the 7th highest-grossing Broadway musical since 1982, selling out most of its shows for its entire run.
It follows the story of Alexander Hamilton, an American-immigrant Founding Father, told through hip-hop, R&B, and traditional show tunes music. The original cast includes Lin-Manuel as Alexander Hamilton, Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr, Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton, Jonathan Groff as King George III, and Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson.
It will be streamed exclusively on Disney Plus this July 3, 2020.
