No One Asked for a Medieval Cover of Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance,’ But Here It Is And it’s SO GOOD

Absolutely no one asked for a medieval-style cover of pop songs we know and love, but after hearing what YouTube channel Hildegard von Blingin’ had to offer, I can now say that I am HOOKED.

bad romance medieval cover

The channel, freshly made a couple of weeks ago, has taken the likes of Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” and Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” and masterfully transformed them into completely unique songs through medieval instruments like the lute, wooden recorders, and a Celtic harp, as well as rewritten lyrics into medieval wording such as: “I want thine ugly, I want thy disease / Take aught from thee shall I if it can be free / I want thy love / Love, love, love, I want thy love,” and “Best ye go, best ye go, outrun my bow.”

Despite the channel being less than a month old and only having three covers so far, Hildegard von Blingin’ has already received over 90K subscribers who, like me, are looking forward to more.

Listen and be amazed by my favorite so far, the “Bad Romance” cover, below:
