LISTEN: Amy Lee of Evanescence Has a Children’s Album and It’s Good!

Wake up, everyone! Amy Lee, the vocalist of rock band Evanescence, is back making music. Except this time, she’s making music for children. You read that right. The goth queen of our teenage years is back making lullabies.

Her new album is called Dream Too Much, and she released its first song, also called “Dream Too Much.” It’s very different from “Bring Me to Life,” but you can still recognize the haunting quality of Lee’s voice. Listen to it below:

Dream Too Much was inspired by Lee’s two year old son Jack. She told Rolling Stone that her husband told her to collaborate with her father for the album.

Evanescence started in 1995, but their debut album Fallen was only released in 2003. It sold more than 17 million copies worldwide, and gave the band five Grammy awards out of the seven nominations. The band released two more albums after despite its lineup being changed several times. Billboard ranked them 71 on a list of the Best Artists of the Decade.

Dream Too Much will be released on September 30.
