LIS Congress is now on its 11th year with this year’s theme “Destinations”

The LIS Congress is the largest student-led conference for Library and Information Science students. It is the brainchild of the University of the Philippines Library and Information Science Students’ Association (UP LISSA), and has been serving the LIS studentry across the country by providing workshops and seminars from seasoned Information Professionals.

Library and Information Science has since evolved into an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary field; from tackling organization and behavior of information in the digital age, to the handling of information which is localized in fields such as law and medicine, and even proper preservation of pertinent information and knowledge from previous generations. The field is expanding and so are the opportunities that come with it.

This year, the LIS Congress continues its decade long service in the form of LIS Congress 2019: Destinations. The event will feature talks from information professionals who specialize in different fields, including IT, Law and the Health Sciences. This is in order to give LIS Students and other interested participants an overview of the limitless potential of a Library and Information Science Degree, and lead them to the possible opportunities and destinations they can explore after their studies.

Pre-registration for the event is open at https://tiny.cc/LISC2019PreReg, and for additional information, you may contact the event through the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/liscongress/.
