Palawan is one of the most famous places in the Philippines. Being the largest province in the country subdivided into 23 municipalities, its entirety will astound you with its mystic waters and lush islands.

I have only been to two municipalities in Palawan so far: Coron and Puerto Princesa. Despite hearing good feedback about El Nido, I hadn’t gotten the chance to visit before. What is Lio Beach?

Lio Beach is a 325-hectare beach town. Guided by sustainable design and an eco-friendly drive, it’s a one-stop adventure for those seeking a good thrill in various types of accommodation.

This beach is filled with endless possibilities for everyone. During the day, you can opt to do a series of water sports or go island hopping. By noontime, you can feast on exquisite restaurants and shop for locally handcrafted goods. In the evening, you can enjoy a quiet night or grab some drinks at the local bars on Lio Beach.

How to Get to Lio Beach

Getting to El Nido used to be a rather arduous journey. To get there, you had to land at Puerto Princesa Airport and take a 4-hour van transfer to arrive at the island. Now, it’s much easier to get to, thanks to the direct flights to El Nido via AirSWIFT.

You will land at El Nido Airport (aka Lio Airport), which is conveniently situated minutes away from Lio Beach—a hassle-free route for a world-class destination.

If you booked at any of the resorts on Lio Beach, you can also enjoy a free shuttle service around the estate and even the town proper and some islands.

Explore the Eco-Trail

Lio Beach recently opened an eco-trail for guests to take a leisure self-guided walk in nature and to encourage them to adhere to a healthier lifestyle.

It’s a 3.8- kilometer trail with a rewarding view of the island and Bacuit Bay once you reach the sky deck. Note that the eco-trail is open from 6AM to 5:30PM from Wednesday to Monday. Registration is located at the Security Hut across the Star Apple entrance of Lio Beach or the Activity Hall across Jungle Bar. Get a chance to see native and endemic species such as the Palawan Hornbill and flora like the Antipolo, Ipil and Narra.

Attend Various Beach Events

There are several beach events at Lio Beach, such as the beach cleanup that was conducted during the International Coastal Cleanup Day 2019. Various organizations and locals got together to take part in this global movement.

Guests can expect more events like this among others (beach volleyball tournaments, music festivals, etc.). You may follow their website and social media accounts for updates and announcements.

Engage in Exciting Activities

No trip to the beach is complete without trying water activities or going island hopping. Make your stay is exciting by going kayaking, paddle boarding , windsurfing, and more.

Lio beach has facilities like ATM machines and fast WiFi. It also has convenience and drugstores like Mercury Drug; a co-working space, Lift Gym; and Mayana Spa. Seda Lio also has a spa that’s open to non-resort guests!
