Celebrating 65 Joyful years of friendship between Indonesia and the Philippines, Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta will showcase an array of the Philippines’ best dishes cooked by Filipino Chef, Jam Melchor.
The Philippines’ own Chef Jam Melchor designed and will be preparing the menu. Growing up in Pampanga, one of the country’s culinary centres, the young chef jam decided to pursue his love for cooking by undergoing formal education, earning his diploma in culinary arts. He is an active slowfood advocate promoting local, indigenous organic ingredients and Filipino heirloom recipes and owns HEALTHY EATS MANILA® noted as one of manila’s top healthy diet food delivery services.
Filipino food has deep and complex taste that is described as LINAMNAM. Literally meaning “deliciousness” yet signifying much more. It is the root word for malinamnam, which is how a Filipino might describe the tastiness and aroma of a dish.
Guests can enjoy Filipino Cuisine at SATOO during breakfast. Lunch and dinner or at the lobby lounge through the welcome Pilinut, a Philippine themed high tea with special mocktails and cocktails.
Breakfast at SATOO offers such dishes as Beef Tapa, Pancit Luglug, Suman and Arozcaldo
Some of the dishes highlighted in this food festival are the archipelago’s favorite meat dishes like Kaldereta Pot Pie, Boneless Lechon Balamban, Bagnet Ilocandia, Classic Pork and Chicken Adobo and Crispy Tadyang Macadamia Karekare & Crispy Sisig ala Aling Lucing
To complete the Philippine Culinary Journey, guests can relish in the country’s famous desserts such as Halo-Halo, Lelut Mais, Silvannas, Quezo de Bola Cheesecake, Pinoy Fruit Salad, Leche Flan, Mango Otap Mille Feuille & Pili Sansrival.
