Liam throws shade at Zayn in presenter speech

Mega-famous boy band One Direction is seemingly on an “extended hiatus”, as though no one has officially confirmed the band’s split, it looks like all of the boys have their own solo projects going. Capitol Records UK has Liam Payne on its roster, releasing his first single “Strip That Down”, while Niall Horan has signed on to its USA label. Harry, meanwhile, just released his solo album under Columbia Records, while Louis Tomlinson JUST signed with Simon Cowell for his own record. And of course, we all know what happened to “Pillowtalk” singer Zayn.

And speaking of Zayn, Liam, who is a new dad to 11-week-old Bear with Cheryl, took a swipe at his former bandmate, while presenting an award at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2017.

About to present James Corden with the Man Of The Year gong, the “Strip That Down” hitmaker said:

“(1D) never had a slogan but if we had, Zayn might have stayed.”

This may be the latest comment the former 1D member has made about Zayn, but this wouldn’t be the first time he’s made his feelings clear about Zayn’s departure. Earlier this year, Liam said in an interview:

“Zayn doesn’t really support the cause. If he feels hurt and scorned in some sort of way that I don’t really understand that’s down to him so there we go.

It is very sad because One Direction was a wonderful, wonderful time in all of our lives. It was so much fun and I don’t understand how you can come out of that experience and say the things that he says sometimes, it doesn’t make any sense to me but there you go.”

How sad yet honest. It looks like Directioners will have to go on and support their boys’ different things.
