The local government of Laguna is anticipating the possible outpour of COVID-19 patients. Therefore, Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez ordered that the sports complex be prepared to cater to possible incoming patients that might suffer from the highly-contagious new coronavirus disease 2019.

On a Facebook post published on Wednesday, Hernandez wrote, “Huwag naman sanang mangyari subalit kung kukulangin ang ating Ospital para sa Covid 19 patients ay ipinapahanda ko po ang isang building sa Laguna Sports Complex upang magamit.”

(Rough translation: I hope it never happens but if our hospital cannot accommodate COVID-19 patients anymore, I already ordered the preparation of one building in the Laguna Sports Complex for this purpose.)

Here’s the post:

“Mag-ingat po tayo at Huwag ng maglalabas. Ang dalangin ko po ay huwag ng magamit ang building na ito,” the governor concluded.

(Rough translation: Let’s all take care and don’t go out of your homes. My prayer is that the need to use this building never arise.)

As of Thursday, March 26, DOH reported 71 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 707. The nation-wide death toll now at 45, after seven fatalities today. Two more patients recover.
