Quezon City – January 2013 – I Am Hope: Chapters will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2013.
The I AM HOPE campaign is the annual externals advocacy program of Kythe-Ateneo, a student arm of Kythe, Inc., a “non-profit, non-stock organization aimed towards improving the quality of life among hospitalized children with cancer and other chronic illness.” This year, I AM HOPE: CHAPTERS will be launched as a social media campaign to bring out the message of hope. The event will focus on recreating lands we have come to love from far away through our majestic and magical story books. As characters and stories come to life, so do our own aspirations and hope for a better tomorrow.
In a technologically-filled world, the project aims to utilize this advantage by promoting our advocacy through media. I AM HOPE: CHAPTERS aims to inspire audience to invoke concrete actions that would highlight the importance of hope particularly towards the kids. At the same time, it also promotes the known cost of this which is reading. This media campaign would lead into a culminating event that would be a celebration of stories of hope of the kids and volunteers alike.
In light of this, Kythe-Ateneo will hold a week-long story book pledging event both in-campus and off-campus through various partner organizations. For in-campus book pledges and donations, books can be dropped off at the Kostka Extenstion, Ateneo de Manila University, within the week of January 7-11, 2013. For off-campus book pledges and donations, books can be dropped off at the following partner organizations:

Book pledges and donations may also be done by dropping off the books on the day of the event itself at the UP College of Science Amphitheater on January 12, 2013.
Approximately 200 volunteers fromthe Ateneo de Manila University and other partner universities will interact with children from Kythe-affiliated hospitals. The event will begin at 9:00 AM until 12:00 NN at the University of the Philippines College of Science Amphitheatre, Quezon City. Fifty children, along with their parents and guardians, have been invited to the event.
Kythe-Ateneo’s roster of events has continually been supported by celebrities, personalities, and different organizations, as it seeks to rally hope and support for the children. In 2006, Kythe-Ateneo was granted the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) award, and just recently, the organization was among the Top 20 of TAYO 2012. The I Am Hope Campaign in particular was a TAYO semi-finalist the previous year. Now on its twentieth year, the organization seeks to further its commitment to service by improving its advocacy campaigns. One of these fore-mentioned is our flagship project—the I AM HOPE CAMPAIGN.
