Kylie Verzosa couldn’t help but express sadness over her breakup with actor Jake Cuenca, who she thought was already the one for her.
In an interview with Vice Ganda on his Youtube channel on Monday, May 30, the beauty queen finally addressed the reason why she had broken down in tears during her guesting at “It’s Showtime!” last April — a few days prior to Jake confirming the news that they have indeed parted ways.
“Nagulat kasi ako nung sinabi mo ‘yung line [na ‘May mga times na kailangan natin ma-figure out kung yung nangyayari ba sa buhay natin o sa relasyon natin is just another challenge or already a sign to give up?]” Kylie told Vice Ganda. “Parang swak na swak kasi ‘yon sa pinagdadaanan ko noon. [It was] confusing and wala akong kausap e. Wala akong pinagsasabihan.”
She also explained that she didn’t see their breakup coming, after being in a relationship for three years.
“Akala ko siya na,” she said. “Akala ko hindi na ako magkakaroon ng heartbreak. Akala ko siya na. We loved each other.”
“Happy kami sa relationship at sobrang grateful ako sa relationship. Sobra. Hindi ako in shock. Pinaprocess ko pa rin talaga lahat,” she added.
She also admitted that while she is in pain, she has no regrets and that she still misses Jake — though she did not disclose how much she misses him.
“Syempre naririnig ko sa ibang tao na parang sayang pero para sa akin, hindi kasi siya sayang e. Natulungan namin ‘yung isa’t isa, nagmahalan kami,” she said. “Nag-grow kami together as individuals, so bakit siya sayang?”
The couple has not shared publicly what the cause of their breakup had been. They also clarified that it was an amicable split.
