Kris Aquino has spoken up to deny the claims made by Lolit Solis on the latter’s Instagram page alleging that Kris has reconciled with her ex-fiancé Mel Sarmiento, weeks after she had confirmed their breakup through screenshots of Mel’s final text message to her.
“No nay… hindi kami nag balikan,” Kris began in her long statement in reply to Lolit’s post.
Kris explained that she was deeply hurt by the way they had broken up and that she spent the past weeks reflecting on their relationship.
“Iniwan [niya] ko Nay, when I was at my lowest and ginawa [niya] ‘yun via text… matagal akong tahimik na nagdasal questioning if for both of us, was it ever really love or was it just grief, timing, and infatuation?” she said.
But whatever doubts and anxieties she had were quickly answered after talking with Mel again a few nights prior wherein she realized that he had been ignoring her family members since their separation and that he had been “fabricating” stories about his closeness with Kris’ late brother, former President Noynoy Aquino.
“Basing it on that final conversation it became clear to me what his true feelings for me had been and how little respect I had left for him,” she stated. “Let’s not involve my sons, because Mel failed to have the common decency to acknowledge that he hurt Bimby and never once checked on how my son was taking all of this. It spoke volumes to me nung nalaman ko from my Ate that she had tried several times to message Mel trying to find a way to communicate with him [and] hopefully still create a bridge but he actually snubbed my Ate.”
She continued, “And siguro ‘yung final straw for me was the fact [that] kinaya [niyang mag-imbento] ng napakaraming kwento bilang ‘patunay’ na close talaga sila ni Noy. […] I feel [over-acting] ‘yung ginawang panggamit sa nananahimik [nang] patay — kaya it was a relationship na ‘yung entire premise, what led to the closeness was my brother Noy – and because of what I had perceived to be their closeness.”
To end her statement, Kris said, “So paano [makikipagbalikan] sa taong hindi mo na pinagkakatiwalaan at ngayon alam mo nang hindi ka minahal at ginamit ka lamang? The End, Nay… Move on na…”
