Everyone’s favorite media personality Kris Aquino recently went through a rather shocking experience. Her recent trip to Japan with sons Josh and Bimby was unceremoniously disrupted by a 6.2-6.8 magnitude earthquake, though their area reached a magnitude of 5. It took place last August 5.
Since she was in a Chanel store during the unsettling experience, Kris decided to visit a few days after and reward herself with a new bag. She shared in a Facebook video: “Pinaalala niyo po sa akin na lumindol, and because lumindol, kailangan mag-Chanel ’cause I’m alive.” [You all reminded me about the earthquake, and since it happened then there’s a need to get Chanel ‘cause I’m alive. ]

Kris continues to explain how she would buy herself a bag from the exact same store she was in: “That’s where I’m going right now, in the exact Chanel kung saan ako nagkuwento because of the lindol [in the exact Chanel store that I shared about], ’cause I was alive then. So I’m going there now because I deserve earrings and nako, sa hilong inabot ko naman [because of how dizzy I felt], let’s make it a bag.”
At the end of the video she unboxes one of her purchases to show fans. Kris explains that this particular item was one bought in commemoration of the earthquake. “This is my gift to myself because I’m alive and because wala namang magbibigay sa akin, so ako na lang [no one else will gift this to me, so I might as well],” she explains.
