Kipling’s latest concept store at the Atrium of SM Megamall
Quick trivia for you! Did you know that Filipinos are one of the largest shoppers of Kipling bags in the whole world? This shouldn’t come as a surprise really, as the iconic brand has been popular among Filipinos since the early 90’s. I’ve seen many a 90’s kid sport these colorful Kipling knapsacks and shoulder bags with their trademark Kipling monkey keychain during my childhood. I think Filipinos have come to associate with Kipling so much is because of their bags’ classic, functional designs that come in an array of bright, punchy colors – generally what every Filipino shopper looks into when shopping for bags.

With all local love Kipling has been receiving, there couldn’t have been a better time to launch their newest concept store, “House of Kipling,” at SM Megamall. And as a special treat, Kipling treated the first 100 shoppers to a whopping 50% off on their latest Spring/Summer 2016 collection on their opening day! Die-hard Kipling fans eagerly waited outside the store and conquered the sale with armfuls of Kipling’s newest goods, which came in an array of versatile jungle, floral and polkadot printed bucket bags, satchels and mini-bags, as well as classic crinkled nylon knapsacks and shoulder bags in bold hues of magenta, aquamarine, and cornflower yellow.

Kipling’s Eco-Friendly KAEON Collection
But what really stole the show was Kipling’s first ever eco-friendly collection to date! The Kipling Kaeon Collection features an array of unique and stylish designs distinct from Kipling’s usual offerings. These selection of bags are crafted from an “Aires,” a lightweight and eco-friendly fabric that’s 100% water repellent (and 100% super stylish, natch). What’s even more astounding is that this material is made from 37% recycled fiber and makes use of 90% less water during its dyeing process. Stylish and sustainable, now that’s something we can jive with!
