Kind Jeepney Driver Reminds Passengers That Fare is Rolled Back to PhP 7.50

Last Friday, minimum jeepney fare has been rolled back from PhP 8.50 to PhP 7.50 for the first four kilometers of the trip. This is a result of the huge decrease on the price of diesel in the market. At present, the price of diesel is at an average of PhP 32.95 per liter, which is down about 27% from PhP 45.25 in January.

However, not many passengers were aware of this silent rollback. Marlet Salazar posted on Facebook last Friday of this kind-hearted jeepney driver who gave back the excess payment made by his passengers and reminded them of the fare rollback.

She said:

Rough translation: Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a decent shot of the driver. Of the three jeepneys I rode this morning, he was the only one who gave the right change and informed the passengers of the fare rollback. Apparently, he was really a good person. He gave way to other motorists and he followed traffic rules. His route was Ayala-Washington. I can’t think of anything to do when I alighted the jeepney so I just said, “God bless you, sir.”

Here’s the photo of the driver.

It’s good to know that there are still good drivers like him.
