KFC Philippines Invites Avid Young Fans to Meet NBA Star Gordon Hayward
As the official fast food restaurant of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and a supporting partner of the basketball clinic Jr. NBA program, KFC Philippines hosted a fan meet-and-greet lunch with Utah Jazz forward Gordon Hayward on April 27, 2014 at KFC, SM Mall of Asia.
One of the special highlights of this year’s NBA visit was that young fans from the private, non-profit organization Virlanie Foundation were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to interact with their basketball idol. The foundation helps children who come from difficult situation by providing them with opportunities to become responsible and independent adults. This meet-and-greet has brought smiles and joy to three children who are huge NBA fans.
Hayward, who averaged 16.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists for the Jazz this season, was featured in a one-on-one basketball shootout with the kids from the partner organization.
“KFC Philippines has always believed in the power of role models and inspiring the youth to become their best. This is the very reason why we have partnered with the Virlanie Foundation in order to give joy, hope and laughter to kids through this NBA visit. Clearly, Hayward was the perfect choice in making this happen,” says Errol Magdato, KFC Philippines Marketing Director.
