They also let us try their Unagi Katsu Set. Unagi, or freshwater eel, is the best type of Katsu according to my Japanese friend.  I have no doubt or violent reaction, because when I tried Ginza Bairin’s Unagi Katsu – even with just one slice of this dish – I can say that it’s worth the try!
Chef Yukio Hayashi, Ginza Bairin’s Philippines Head Chef, serving us the Unagi Katsu.
I would highly recommend this to those who love seafood. I love the contrasting texture of the breading and the eel. The breading, which uses high-quality Panko (breading), is perfectly crunchy while the eel will just melt in your mouth. The taste of the eel is surprisingly good, it doesn’t have any trace of strong fishy taste.
Lastly, everyone’s favorite Katsu Sando, which can only be bought at Ginza Bairin!
Ginza Bairin’s Katsu in a fluffy Japanese bread – that all of us liked and would love to know where they got. Perfect if you order it to-go and enjoy while on traffic at Edsa. The fluffy bread and the special sauce made this a perfect meal for the kids – like me!
And of course for dessert, it’s but right to cap it off with ice cream! They served us their Ice Cream Trio and Coffee Jelly with Vanilla Ice Cream.Â
Ice Cream Trio (Php 235.00). (L-R) Black Sesame Seed, Green Tea, and Vanilla
Coffee Jelly with Vanilla Ice Cream (Php 90.00)
