How Does Katrina Halili Feel About Being Single? Here’s What She Has to Say About It:

Katrina Halili, after being a single mom for nearly 7 years, says she’s happy with being on her own.

During a press conference for her upcoming television series for GMA Network titled Prima Donnas, Katrina told the media: “Mag-seven years na [akong single]. Simula nung mabuntis ako. Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit. Siguro nagiging mature ka na, at nagiging happy ka sa sarili mo. Work lang.”

(“I’ve been single for seven years. Since I got pregnant. Even I don’t know why. Perhaps it’s because you become more mature and happier with yourself, focusing on only work.”)

Katrina shared that she’s still open to dating, however, but doesn’t seek anything more than friends in the meantime.

“Inisip ko, parang ang tagal na so naging open na ako kapag may nagyaya sa akin ng date, sige okay na ako. Pero happy ako na mag-work lang. Gusto ko parang friends muna.”

(“I realized that it’s been a while so I opened myself up to being asked out on dates. But I’m happy with just focusing on work. I want nothing more than to be friends.”)

She also tries to keep her date’s expectations low by bringing along friends. She did admit that some dates have eventually led to a second, but what’s important to her is that she establishes a good friendship before she ever entertains a romantic relationship with her prospect.

“May naulit, pero syempre gusto natin ‘yung magiging partner na natin, naghahanap tayo ng seryosong magiging partner,” she shared.

“Sa relationship naman daw ang importante yung friends kayo, ‘yun yung foundation. Hindi yung harutan lang kayo ng harutan. Dapat kasundo ko,” she added.

(“There are those who get a second date, but of course we want someone who will be our partner for life. What’s important in relationships is that you’re friends because that’s the foundation. It shouldn’t be that you’re just flirting with each other. I want someone who I can get along with.”)
