WhenInManila and seeking for cupcake shops that will truly tickle our taste buds, well, I’m sorry to say this but you can’t find much cupcake stores that cater to a totally unique and addicting taste much around the metro. A lot of cupcake shops are already growing around the metro, and yet, nothing that have truly ignited a unique addictive taste for my picky taste buds. Yes there are some that would make us come back for more, but have you ever tried KatCakes Music Treats? They don’t have a shop, it’s an order process and pick-up upon meet-up style. It actually makes it much more interesting than just barging into a store, I’d love to see them put up a store or restaurant though someday.
When I was a kid, I was extremely fat. I was fat to the point that I was beyond obese and it looked alarming already. When I was in my 6th grade, I was 198lbs. You’re probably asking if I;m kidding right? Nope! My grade 3 PE shorts even fit me until now. That was all because of my love for sweets. Yup, I could devour sweets in one sitting. It was crazy, but somehow it had a positive effect now. I can easily pick and identify sweets that are either good or bland tasting, thanks to my insane experience with sweets during my childhood. I can also now say no to any type of sweets and go on a diet for months even up to a year without having any chocolate. So when KatCakes Music Treats sent me their box, my curiosity spiked on how these cupcakes could be different from everyone else’s. Can it bring me back to my childhood days?
My box was delivered straight to my home and upon receiving them, they were minty fresh out of the oven. The presentation was nothing like I’ve ever seen locally for cupcakes that were homemade, and even beats the crap out of the presentations of the most regarded cupcake places in the metro. For me, presentation is a big big part of any food or delicacy, I feel that it is a fundamental of preparing your self for what is in store. I believe that the most senses a food triggers positively, the more the experience becomes satisfying. Let’s face it, balot looks quite disgusting but tastes good, it somehow changes the total experience due to the disgusting look compared to a delicacy that has both on the good side.
This is the part where I’m gonna have a really hard time describing, the taste. Don’t get me wrong, it’s difficult in a very very positive way! I initially took some photos of the cupcakes boxed together and had planned to take solo shots as I eat the others. Well apparently, I just couldn’t stop myself once I started… They were amazing! I’m sorry KatCakes Music Treats for that, your cupcakes were just too darn good and brought me back to my childhood. I think it was the one with mocha or cappuccino cupcake that made me really think if it had some kind of alcohol in it to give that bursting taste, it was that good! I honestly thought for a second about my diet and instantly disregarded it due to the holiday season and because the cupcakes were just sooooo darn good! I’m not applauding this too much because of any factors, straightly being honest, but they are really just so so darn good! Not too sweet but with a bursting sweetness that is addictive. The cupcakes are soft that really help bring the flavor in. The softness combined with the bursting flavor, gives the impression of the taste growing inside your mouth. Probably why I thought there could be a bite of liquor inside one of the cupcakes, due to the flavor bursting inside my mouth with that heavenly flavor and bite. Just crazy good. Period.
