Wondering what most Filipinos ended up watching this year? We recently got the data for the top 10 streamed movies and television shows in the Philippines for 2021 which we ought to say we’re not that surprised by. After all, dominating the list were a few of the year’s highest-grossing or top trending titles as well as tons of Korean dramas.
According to streaming data and insights of JustWatch, which is an international streaming guide that helps you find movies and TV shows to watch across multiple platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime, the most-streamed movies of 2021 ended up being action and thriller titles.
At the top of the list was “Wonder Woman 1984,” followed by “Tenet” starring Denzel Washington, and “Godzilla vs. Kong.” Only two movies that made it to the top 10 were titles that did not premiere this year, namely the 2008 film “The Dark Knight” and the 2001 film “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.”
Meanwhile, the top stream shows were mostly K-Dramas with the top three being “Squid Game,” “Vincenzo,” and “The Girl from Nowhere.” The only three in the list that were not made in Korea were “Money Heist,” “Bridgerton,” and the Filipino series “He’s Into Her” starring Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinan.
