A Look Back at Jumpstart 2020: Voyager

Ateneo MISA’s Jumpstart is an annual event of MISA to welcome the incoming freshmen of Ateneo’s BS Management Information Systems (MIS). This was a 5-day event which was held on September 1-5, 2020, with around 80-100 participants. This event serves as an avenue for MIS freshmen students of AY 2020-2021 to learn more about their course and to interact with their fellow batchmates and coursemates. 

Greeted by a warm welcome from Ateneo MISA’s President, Mr. Erin Yabut, the 99 participants from the freshmen, upperclassmen, sponsors, and speakers were able to understand Ateneo MISA as an organization better. This webinar held on September 1, 2020 also provided a deeper understanding to the audience regarding BS MIS as a course and its curriculum through Doc Andrei Coronel’s talk and what to expect in their four/five years journey in Ateneo as BS MIS students through Ms. Justine Abigail Tan’s talk. 

Throughout the week, the freshmen were able to bond with their respective facilitators and groupmates through online games and video calls. With laughs and chitchats from the daily activities and challenges, the bond and friendship of the freshmen students with each other and the upperclassmen were further enhanced and strengthened. 

On September 5, 2020, a series of games and activities were prepared to keep the 80 participants including the freshmen and upperclassmen engaged and entertained. The long-awaited announcement of the winners for the daily activities and the game night were also presented during the last segment of the event. The participants who won were able to receive vouchers from Ateneo MISA’s sponsors.
