July 6 Is Declared as Holiday in Observance of Eid’l Fitr

It has now been announced that July 6, Wednesday, is a national holiday for observance of Eid’l Fitr.

This according to the tweets of Marlon Ramos of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The announcement was made by Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) chief Martin Andanar.

Ramos tweeted:

Draft for the Executive Order is in the works.

EO will be released within the day to formalize the announcement.

Eid al-Fitr or “festival of breaking fast” is an important religious celebration by the Muslim community worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan. It celebrates the end of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan.
