Actress Julia Montes just trended online on Saturday, July 3, as fans call for a new comeback project for her to star in.
Julia’s name landed on the top trending topics of Twitter in the Philippines after MEGA Entertainment published their interview with her which prompted fans all over the country to ask ABS-CBN Network to give her a new show.
Julia’s last teleserye was “24/7” which premiered in late February 2020. She played Mia, a single mother working as a security officer who steals a case full of vaccines to cure her son who had been infected by a fatal disease and eventually gets caught and killed. Her son, who had been saved by the vaccine, grows up to be a scientist and invents a holographic stick that will warn his mom in the past of her death. The invention works and Mia, knowing what will happen in the future, begins her heist to steal the vaccine as she had originally planned, but this time also learning more about the epidemic and deciding to save as many victims as she possibly can.
The show was an instant hit especially with it being Julia’s comeback to showbiz. Only a few weeks later since its release, however, the production of new episodes was temporarily suspended amid the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was then discontinued.
Another show she was also supposed to do last year was “Burado” with Nadine Lustre, Paulo Avelino, and Zanjoe Marudo. The project was eventually shelved.
Though she has yet to make her full return to TV, it’s guaranteed that many Filipinos are eagerly waiting for it to happen soon.
