Planning to Go to Tagaytay? Cavite Governor Gives Word of Warning

As travel restrictions have eased up, more and more Filipinos are starting to go on day trips outside of Metro Manila — specifically to Tagaytay.

In light of this, Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla Jr. has given a warning to all those making plans to drive down south with their family and friends.

“The weather in Tagaytay is HIGH RISK for COVID infection. As we continue to battle this pandemic, it is not suitable to do leisure travel at this point in time,” he said in a Tweet.

Residents have been airing their frustrations to him regarding traffic buildups and the influx of tourists around the area despite the ongoing public health crisis. Many have also begun calling for stricter protocols and checkpoints.

As of September 15, Tuesday, Tagaytay City has a total of 104 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
