Johnny Depp’s Exes Speak Up After Tabloid Calls Him a ‘Wife-Beater’

Johnny Depp’s ex-lovers, Winona Ryder and Vanessa Paradis, has come to his defense in a libel lawsuit he filed against a British newspaper that called him a “wife-beater” amid domestic abuse allegations.

The article was published on The Sun in April 2018 which detailed the allegations made by Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard which the actor has persistently denied.

In separate witness reports, the two actresses gave statements in support for Depp to help his case.

“We’ve been partners for 14 years and we raised our two children together,’’ Paradis said according to court documents. “Through all these years, I’ve known Johnny to be a kind, attentive, generous, and non-violent person and father.”

Meanwhile, Ryder said, “I cannot wrap my head around (Heard’s) accusations. He was never, never violent towards me. He was never, never abusive at all towards me.”

Heard’s representative then issued a statement in response to these testimonies, saying, “in relation to Vanessa Paradis and Winona Ryder’s evidence, we are glad they did not have the same experience as Ms. Heard. However, one woman’s experience does not determine the experience of another woman.”

Both Paradis and Ryder will be witnesses at the trial which is scheduled for July in London.
