Jodi Sta. Maria will be taking a break from showbiz.
In a recent press conference of the action drama series, “Lavender Fields,” the actress revealed that she plans to take a short break to pursue a master’s degree in clinical psychology.

“This year, I’m taking up my master’s degree in clinical psychology,” she said.
“I think as a human being, parang I can do so much more, na parang meron pang life outside of show business (I can do so much more, that there’s still life outside show business). Naisip ko na, oo (I thought, yes), I’m an actor, but I can put on another hat.”
Jodi also shared her dream to make mental health accessible to everyone.
“It’s my dream to be able to put up a small center to make mental health accessible to all. Hindi lang for people na kaya magbayad, but para sa lahat (Not only for people who can pay, but for everyone),” she expressed.
“Yung heart ko (my heart) from the time that I started studying psychology, when I did acupuncture detox and got my certification there. Yun talaga nasa heart ko, and God willing, yung dream na yun will turn into reality (That’s really in my heart, and God willing, that dream will turn into reality),” she added.
“Lavender Fields will air its last episode on January 24. Aside from Jodi, the cast includes Albert Martinez, Edu Manzano, Maricel Soriano, Jericho Rosales, Janine Gutierrez, and Victor Neri, among others.
The actress is also known for her prominent roles in “Be Careful With My Heart,” “Pangako Sa’yo,” and “The Broken Marriage Vow.”
