The hashtag #RIPJKRowling trended on Twitter, not because of the author’s death, but rather, because of her new novel “Troubled Blood,” which was written under the alias Robert Galbraith. JK Rowling, the author of the popular Harry Potter series, is currently under fire for her new novel “Troubled Blood”, which features a cross-dressing serial killer.
According to a review published on Telegraph, the bulk of the series talks about a cold case investigation about a missing doctor who was believed to have been killed by a said murderous cross-dresser. “One wonders what critics of Rowling’s stance on trans issues will make of a book whose moral seems to be: never trust a man in a dress,” Jake Kerridge added in his review. Do take note that the term “transvestite” is an outdated term that refers to men who wear women’s clothing. This is not the same as being transgender.
The review ultimately led to mixed reactions over Twitter. Some believe that her views on gender will ultimately “kill her career” while others have used it to defend the author for her views. On the other hand, others have used the hashtag to recommend works by trans authors.

Trans people are equally respectable as any other person. Every trans man is a man and every trans women is a women. 🙏#RIPJKRowling
