While I have nothing against commercial movies, I must admit I have a mega soft spot for indie films – and that includes Filipino indie films. Last November, people started talking about ‘Baka Bukas’, debut director Samantha Lee’s LGBT movie that stars Jasmine Curtis Smith as a twenty-something lesbian who is in love with her best friend.
The film takes a look into a millennial’s complicated love life and people have said that it is very honest and relatable. Watch the trailer here:
Well, it looks like we will finally get to watch the movies in cinemas soon. So far, ‘Baka Bukas’ has already won numerous awards and is set to show in Philippine cinemas this March 1. Will you be watching it?
