Their Majesties, the Emperor and Empress of Japan are set to go on a four-day state visit to the Philippines next month, according to local reports.
Reports cite a statement from Malacañang saying that the Emperor and Empress’ visit was in response to a long-standing invitation by the President to visit the country.
Their Majesties reportedly last visited the Philippines in 1962, when they were still Crown Prince and Princess.
Reports say that the highlight of the state visit would be the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between the Philippines and Japan in 2016.
