Good news for Filipino travelers planning to visit Japan!
The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines has announced the opening of the Japan Visa Application Centre (JVAC).

The new VFS Global-powered visa application centers will begin accepting and issuing visa applications on April 7, 2025. An online appointment website was also launched on March 19.
They are located in five cities nationwide, including Parañaque City, Makati City, Quezon City, Cebu City, and Davao City. See the addresses below:
- Quezon City – Level 3, Gateway Tower Mall, Araneta City
- Makati City – Ground Floor, Makati Circuit Corporate Center Tower Two, AP Reyes St. Barangay Carmona, Theater Drive Circuit
- Parañaque City – Level 3, Parqal Mall, Building 5, Diokno Avenue, corner Macapagal Boulevard, Barangay Tambo
- Cebu City – Faustina Center, Level 6, F. Cabahug Street, Kasambagan
- Davao City – Unit: FEG 9 -10 2nd Floor, Alfresco Area, Felcris Centrale, Quimpo Blvd.
The visa application centers will be open Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Passports with approved visas will be released during the same business hours.
All visa applications will be accepted on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Metro Manila centers and from 7 a.m. to 12 noon at Cebu and Davao centers. Visa processing will include a visa and center usage fee of P520. However, costs may vary depending on nationality and application type.
The embassy noted that accredited agencies will no longer accept visa applications after April 6. Starting April 7, all applications must be submitted at the JVAC.

In January, the embassy limited tourist visa slots for Filipinos due to a significant increase in visitors driven by the weak yen. With the launch of JVAC, it aims to provide better service and convenience for applicants.
