James Reid is now PH’s Ambassador on Food Security!

Actor-singer James Reid was named by the Department of Agriculture (DA) as the Philippines’ Ambassador on Food Security. This was announced on Tuesday, May 26 during the DA’s launch of the Farmers and Fisherfolk’s Month.

According to DA Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Noel Reyes, the actor volunteered for the job and will not be paid for his efforts in the agency. The position entails the actor to inform the public on ensuring sustained food security, food accessibility, and affordability.

On Instagram, Reid posted a picture thanking the agency for this new position. He wrote, “LETS GROOOW! Thank you to the Department of Agriculture and Secretary Dar for trusting me with the role of Ambassador of Food Security. Thanks for the gift ? Can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on during quarantine!”
