Viva Entertainment dropped the news on Monday after confirming that James Reid will no longer be involved with upcoming film Pedro Penduko due to spinal injuries. The official statement from Viva reads:

“James has spinal injuries and the film Pedro Penduko involves intensive training and major stunts. His regular therapy and treatment [prohibit] him to train hard or perform for the rigid requirements. James has spent over a year training and getting ready for this film and Viva truly appreciates his dedication and commitment to this project.”

In lieu of Pedro Penduko, James Reid will be working on Spellbound with his loveteam partner and girlfriend Nadine Lustre.
