Just a week ago, the Internet freaked out when Harry Potter author JK Rowling tweeted an anagram about a possible new Harry Potter film. Of course the Internet freaked out, most netizens grew up as the series progressed, both in books and film.

It turned out that it wasn’t a Harry Potter film, but it gets even better: it’s a new trilogy on Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, which in the Potterverse is a book detailing all the creatures that appeared (and some that didn’t) in the series’ seven books and eight films. It will be an adaptation of an offshoot book Rowling wrote, with the same title.

The trilogy will be directed by David Yates (who also directed the last four films), and will focus on Newt Scamander, who wrote the book. We can only imagine the amount of CGI work needed to animate all the centaurs, dragons, hippogriffs, grindylows, and thestrals, but we’re sure it’s going to be glorious.
The first of the trilogy will be released on November 18, 2016, with the second and third to be released in 2018 and 2020.
