Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno ordered the temporary closure of the Ospital ng Maynila. This is amid rising confirmed COVID-19 cases among hospital workers. This was announced through the Manila Public Information Office’s social media accounts.

“We have to be practical about our situation,” Moreno said while he discussed the closure of the hospital Opsital ng Maynila during a Facebook live stream.

Manila City is one of the cities that has incorporated drive-thru COVID-19 testing centers in the fight against the virus. Mayor Moreno has also previously talked about the city’s inclusive approach to mass testing, saying, “We will continue to make it available as long as kaya namin, as long as may resources kami.”
As of July 24, the Manila PIO said that there are currently 1,448 active cases of COVID-19 in the city.
