After conquering the stage as Rizzo in Grease: Live and, more recently, Mimi in Rent: Live; Vanessa Hudgens is set to lead a staged reading of the musical adaptation of the 2004 romance movie The Notebook. Yes, as in the tearjerker with Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling!
Vanessa is reading the part of “Middle Aged Allie”, who McAdams plays in the movie. Tony nominee Hailey Kilgore, who rose to the spotlight on Broadway’s Once on This Island, will play “Younger Allie”, while Andy Buckley (Cabaret) will play “Older Allie”.
The musical adaptation of the film was announced in January, but no casting or dates have been announced yet. Hopefully, we’ll see the High School Musical alum on a Broadway stage real soon!
