Is This Gloc-9’s Reaction to Michael Pacquiao’s Rapping Skills?

Amid online discourse regarding certain rising talents in the music industry, iconic Pinoy rapper Gloc-9 has joined in to voice out his own thoughts about it.

“Music is for everybody! Mayaman o mahirap kilala man o hindi (Whether you’re rich or poor, famous or not),” Gloc-9 said on his Facebook post. “Maaaring mas madali para sa iba dahil mas may resources sila pero hindi ito basehan kung sino ang mas karapatdapat (It’s possibly easier for some because they have the resources, but that’s not the basis of who is more deserving).”

He talked about the importance of having grit and passion to pursue one’s dreams, no matter what the cost.

LABAN! TUMBA! TAYO! LABAN ULIT!!!

(“The question is about how much you love what you’re doing and how hard you’ll work for it. If you’re ready to fight for this even if you struggle or no one notices you, or if you’ll end up abandoning it when nothing happens. Always remember that whatever dream you aspire to reach, it’s only when you give up that you lose. Fight! Fall down! Stand up! Fight again!”)

His post comes after many netizens and celebrities shared their opinions on 18-year-old Michael Pacquiao, the son of celebrity boxer Manny Pacquiao, launching his rap career with his latest single, “Hate,” which he got to perform on radio station Wish 107.5.

Though Gloc-9 didn’t explicitly mention or refer to Michael, it’s most likely that the topic prompted him to air out his feelings and to hopefully inspire lesser-known and aspiring rappers to not give up on their goals.
