It’s been over 25 years since Lea Salonga and Aga Muhlach last starred in a movie together and, until now, fans continue to clamor for a reunion project between the two. But what does Lea have to say about it?
On Twitter, the Broadway star prompted an “#AskMissLea” session wherein she let fans and followers ask her any questions they had in mind for her to answer.
“Okay, gang… shall we do an #AskMissLea session?” she said. “If you don’t have a question, we can fangirl over BTS together. Whaddaya say? Let’s fill the TL with good vibes!”
Naturally, the subject of a possible future Lea-Aga movie, following “Sana Maulit Muli” from 1995 and “Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal” from 1992, came up when a fan asked, “Is there still hope for the third movie with Aga Muhlach?”
Lea’s response?

Her cheeky reply received a slew of funny reactions from netizens, most of them posting memes and gifs to express their heartbreak over this rejection.
Lea has also commented on this in an interview with G3 San Diego last August 2020 in which she said that if ever there was going to be a reunion movie, she and Aga are most likely going to feel burdened by the weight of having to achieve the high expectations that people have for them.
“It needs to be something that eclipses ‘Sana Maulit Muli’ and that’s a very high bar that we set. That’s all our fault. We raised the expectations so damn high that where do you go from here?” she said at the time.
