Is Netflix making ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ series?

In 2018, Netflix amused fans when it announced that it will be making The Chronicles of Narnia movie and series adaptations for the platform. However, not much has been heard about it since then, until today when Twitter lit up with fake posters that led fans to believe that Netflix is releasing The Chronicles of Narnia series soon.

One thing that gave away why this might be too good to be true is the image in The Last Battle poster. This one looked familiar because most of us have seen it before. The figure gripping a sword is not from Narnia, but Game of Thrones: it’s Oathkeeper.

Here’s that tweet going around on the Twitter-verse and even on other social media platforms.

Here’s a screenshot of the tweet:

Additionally, this “revelation” somewhat contradicted what Douglas Gresham, C.S. Lewis’ stepson and Narnia producer, said about his Netflix deal in an interview two weeks ago. Apparently, Gresham hasn’t heard from the streaming platform recently.

So, is Netflix making The Chronicles of Narnia content?

Simply put, yes.

Regardless of what Gresham said in an interview, Netflix is still developing The Chronicles of Narnia content. In 2019, Coco co-writer Matthew Aldrich was revealed as the creative architect on all Narnia projects.

However, no other details were made available regarding the production of The Chronicles of Narnia content. Netflix didn’t also provide a release date but we’ll keep an eye out.
