After more than a year of waiting for the premiere of Antoinette Jadaone’s “The Soulmate Project” starring James Reid and MOMOLAND’s Nancy McDonie, is the leading man pulling out of the show?
Netizens are speculating that James is no longer going to be part of the series after a clip of him saying so during a kumu livestream with Mon Abrea was posted online. “‘Soulmate’? I won’t be doing ‘Soulmate,'” he said in the clip, which Mon reacted to with a loud gasp.
It has yet to be confirmed if James truly did back out from the show.

It was back in October 2019 when Deo Endrinal posted a photo of James and Nancy together on his Instagram account confirming the project. “Finally, we present our new series, ‘Soulmate’, with James Reid and Nancy McDonie of Momoland to be directed by Antonette Jadaone,” he wrote on the caption.
Dreamscape Entertainment then dropped the trailer on December 20, 2020, showcasing its many different upcoming offerings and included portraits of James and Nancy, suggesting that their series “The Soulmate Project” is still a go for this year.
“The Soulmate Project” reportedly will have 13 episodes which will be finished prior to its premiere. It will be set in the Philippines where a fictional law had just been enacted in which the government will match its citizens to their soulmates. James was expected to portray Jayson from Tondo while Nancy will play Binna, a Korean-American residing in the country.
