Intramuros and Rizal Park Are Now Open For Visitors

Now that Metro Manila is officially under GCQ Alert Level 4, outdoor tourist destinations and parks are now open to the public. Intramuros and Rizal Park, two of the go-to outdoor parks in the country, already opened to visitors on September 16.

These parks will be accepting both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals, but there will be an express lane entrance set for those who are fully vaccinated. People below 18 years old and above 65 years old will not be allowed to enter the parks.

Rizal Park will only be accepting 500 visitors at all times and will be open from 5 AM to 9 AM.

Fort Santiago will have a maximum capacity of 150 visitors and will be open from 9 AM to 7:30 PM from Mondays to Fridays, and until 8:30 PM during the weekends. Baluarte de San Diego will only be able to accommodate 80 people at any given time and is open from 8 AM to 5 PM with entrance fees.

Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat expressed the department’s delight with the parks’ reopening.

“Masaya ang Department of Tourism kasi under Alert Level 4 bukas nga ‘yung outdoor tourist attractions so bukas ang Intramuros at bukas ang Rizal Park. Maganda ito at least may pupuntahan ang ating mga kababayan within Metro Manila na outdoor tourist attraction,” Puyat said in an interview on TeleRadyo.

They’ve also assured the public that 96% of Rizal Park personnel are already fully vaccinated while 99% of the Intramuros Administration have been fully vaccinated.
