InterContinental’s Cafe Jeepney Insider Gourmet: Binondo

The Insider Gourmet is a promotion which will feature Filipino homegrown cuisine at the hotel’s buffet restaurant each quarter. A spin-off of the InterContinental brand’s “In the Know” program, the Insider Gourmet aims to connect the hotel’s well-travelled guests to each location’s culture and destination-specific specialities. The program will help guests enjoy authentic experiences unique to each location’s culture.

The current Insider Gourmet features the unique cuisine of the world’s oldest Chinatown: Binondo. The management team of InterContinental Manila chose this part the city since Binondo represents the cultural diversity of Manila very well. Moreover, not without good reason has Binondo been featured on CNNGo’s World’s Best Chinatown List, as well as on Anthony Bourdain’s Philippine episode of No Reservations. Our city’s very own Chinatown truly offers a cuisine worth trying.

While you cannot go wrong with classic chocolate cake, chocolate fondue or mango cheesecake, a personal favorite and recommendation is Dezzanique, a slice of rich chocolate heaven!
