Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association Simply Amaze 6! Opening Ceremony
Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association or ISAA is an athletic sport organization in the Philippines formed in 2009 by Lyceum of the Philippines University.
The grand opening of the league was held on September 09, 2009, at Manila Doctors College, in Pasay City. Seven other universities and colleges namely FEATI University, La Consolacion College Manila, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Manila Adventist Medical Center, and Colleges, Manila Doctors College, Philippine Women’s University, and Southville International School and Colleges have come together to form this sports organization that aims to promote sports program and develop student-athletes.
At present, ISAA continues to promote sportsmanship and camaraderie among its new set of member schools composed of FEATI University, La Consolacion College Manila, Manila Adventist Colleges, Manila Tytana Colleges, Philippine Merchant Marine School, Philippine Women’s University and St. Dominic College Of Asia in Bacoor City. Student athletes compete in various sports such as basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and effective this year, dragon boat racing. The entire season runs for 8 months, normally from August to March, with games held in the different member schools. The 5th ISAA season last year opened at the Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay City with Sen. Sonny Angara was guest of honor and a crowd estimate of 8,000 (students, faculty, and administrators).
Former members, Lyceum of the Philippines won back to back in 2009 and 2010 and Technological Institute of the Philippines beat them on 2011. On the other hand, PMMS and LCCM won the championship title in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
On August 6, the 6th ISAA season with the theme, “Simply Amaze 6!” will kick-off at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City with St. Dominic College Of Asia as season host.
