To many of us, running is simply a pastime or exercise, but for this 16-year-old, it’s a gateway to opportunities.
According to reports, Mia Meagey Niñura, a 16-year-old athlete from Davao City, won gold medal in the secondary girls 3,000-meter event in the Palarong Pambansa 2016 in Albay.
She finished the track in 10 minutes and three seconds, breaking last year’s record of 10 minutes and six seconds. It’s also her first gold win after six tries in the competition.
Because of her stellar performance, she’s reportedly getting scholarship offers from Two American Universities: The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Southern California (USC).
