Inspirational Stories: Student of Criminology Bakes and Sells to Pay for College

We all have goals. Dreams we wish to someday achieve. However, with these dreams come the challenges and obstacles we also have to face. It’s never an easy journey, and at times, we choose to give up on our dreams just because we feel it was too hard. Life is never easy, many of us have to work harder than others to reach our dreams. This is the case for Emilio Aguinaldo College Cavite student, John Eric Ventura.

A few days ago, Leznufar A. posted a photo of John on her Facebook page. His story of hard work and dedication inspired her and quickly went viral. Read John’s story below:

Student Sells Graham Balls to Finish COllege

“SALUDO AKO SA TAONG TO

At take note CRIMINOLOGY STUDENT sya. 1st yr.

Rough English Translation:

“I SALUTE THIS PERSON

This is what greeted me after our exams earlier today, he was asking our classmates to buy some GRAHAM BALLS. Of course, I was interested so I bought some. I initially thought it was a girl selling them and was surprised to see it was actually a guy. And take note, he is a first year CRIMINOLOGY STUDENT. I was amazed by him. That was also when I found out that it was through his hard work of selling these graham balls that he was able to graduate from high school and enroll in college. I asked him who made these balls and he said he makes it together with his mom. It was really a heartwarming experience as I did not expect this from a student of criminology. I salute you sir! Because of you, I am more inspired to study. Poverty and difficulties in life should not stop you from reaching your dream.”
