Indie Un-Film: See Life Happen

Indie Un-Film: See Life Happen..

Last year, Indie Un–Film (IUF), an annual inter-collegiate digital film competition, held its 10th year anniversary at Natividad Fajardo Auditorium, Bro. Andrew Gonzales Building in De La Salle University. Together with the celebration of the Arts Congress headed by the College of Liberal Arts, IUF successfully held its week-long film screening and awarding ceremony. For 10 years, Indie Un-Film has served as an avenue for student artists to showcase their talents in filmmaking. At the same time, students have earned recognition under the categories of Music Video, Experimental, Feature and Documentary.

As a forerunner in production and media-related projects, as well as an advocate of local films, the Green Media Group (GMG) has opened its doors to students who have so much talent to offer in the field of filmmaking. Founded in the year 2003 by Nikki Lañas and Kristine Villanueva, Indie Un-Film’s primary goal has always been and always will be to promote creativity and independent film genre among the youth. Indie Un-Film has aided the success of budding filmmakers such as Gino Santos, Director of Cinemalaya 2012 film: The Animals; Pamela Reyes, Director of Indie Film: Unawa; and Hannah Espia, Director of Cinemalaya 2013 film: Transit.

With the theme, “See Life Happen” for its 11th year, Indie Un-Film 2014 promises to support local filmmakers in their quest to send meaningful messages through their films. The theme encourages filmmakers to create unique and exceptional films with profound insights on life.

As mentioned, Indie Un-Film will showcase entries from 4 categories, namely: Music Video, Experimental, Feature and Documentary. The contest is open to legitimate students of School Year 2013-2014 from all colleges and universities nationwide, with a non-refundable joining fee of One Hundred Eighty Pesos (Php 180.00). The competition is also open to fresh graduates, as long as the entry was made during their undergraduate years. Cash prizes will also be given out to winners, the details of which are available online at indieunfilm.tk/. The mechanics of the contest, including duration and content of entries to be submitted, and other relevant information, are posted on the website. Submission period of entries is from October 1, 2013 to January 10, 2014. Entries should be submitted to their university’s partner organization/department or directly at Room 403, Br.
