Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, if you frequently get your morning cup of coffee from Starbucks, you probably have a card that lets you collect stars. The accumulated stars can be used later on to get a free beverage. Moreover, certain rewards come along with the card (like a free cake on your birth month etc.)
However, the coffee giant made an announcement on their website that My Starbucks Rewards will be discontinued after June 30.
They hinted that this will be done to give way to a new and better program.
“We’re always listening to our customers and looking for ways to make your Starbucks Experience better,” they wrote on their site. “The new Starbucks Rewards will give way to a better program fit to your ever-changing needs.”
“This change means that we’re preparing a new program to combine the things you love about My Starbucks Rewards and exciting new benefits,” they added.
You can use your current benefits until June 30, according to the coffee chain. Stars may also be earned and redeemed until June 30.
“The remaining balance of your Starbucks Card will be available as store credit or refund when the new program is launched, but we encourage you to deplete your balances by June 30,” they said.
