“Idiotic Answer from a Senator,” Says Jim Paredes to Nancy Binay
A few days ago, someone tweeted APO Hiking Society singer Jim Paredes to stop criticizing Vice President Jejomar Binay. According to Rex Vincent, “Ikaw Mr. @Jimparedes Aalamin namin ang bahay mo dyan sa Manila. Salvage ang aabutin mo. Sa oras mag-mention ka pa uli kay @VPJojoBinay.” (@Jimparedes We’ll find out where you live in Manila and kill you the moment you mention @VPJojoBinay again).
The threat came after Paredes noted that Binay’s move not to attend hearings probably means he has something to hide. Because of the threat, Paredes filed a a report to the PNP.
Senator Nancy Binay came to her father’s defense, saying her family does not know Rex Vincent. She said, “Porke ba’t pinagtatanggol ang ating Vice President kami na ang nagthe-threaten sa kanya?” (If someone protects the Vice President, does it mean we’re the ones threatening him?)
She also advised the singer not to be so sensitive. She said, “I’ve been bashed. I’ve been threatened on social media. If you participate sa mundo na ‘yon, I think dapat hindi ka sensitive, matibay ang loob mo.” (If you participate in that world, you have to not be sensitive.
You have to have guts.)
 
Paredes responded to Sen. Nancy’s advise on his Facebook page, saying, “What an idiotic answer from a senator.LOL. Can’t believe it.”
