Whatever it is that you are going through, leave them at the door for one night.
I have to be honest, I agreed with Sam Smith when he mentioned that he knew that his songs are (sort of) depressing. I mean, they are all honest and you can surely relate to every word of his songs whether you are happy in a relationship or heartbroken.
Though it’s already Sam Smith’s second time in Manila, the Mall Of Asia Arena was filled with fans with hopeful hearts.
He started with One Last Song where he instantly captured the hearts of each and everyone in the arena.
The stage was beautifully lit as the lights danced along the beat of his songs. After a few songs, Sam said hello to everyone and admitted that he remembered his first concert in Manila as if it was yesterday.
Sam Smith then introduced his wonderful set of musicians who completed the whole concert experience. He then performed some of the songs from his Thrill Of It All album and some of his greatest hits from In The Lonely Hour.
My favorite performance was for the song Midnight Train and Baby, You Make Me Crazy which had everyone dancing.
“I’ll always love you, but tonight’s the night I choose to walk away”
He answered the encore by performing one of his greatest hits Stay With Me and told everyone that he’d love to be back. He then sang a few more songs before finally bidding goodbye to his fans.
It was an emotional night for Sam Smith fans as he took everyone on a journey of heartbreak and healing through his songs that have been there to comfort and understand every human’s emotion. I have realized that all these that we feel are valid and the same feelings that other people are feeling. So don’t beat yourself up, you’ll get through it.
