I’ve been feeling a bit reckless and impulsive lately, possibly because I’ve set my mind to standing right back up whenever life tries to put me down. My latest hair appointment at Status Hair Salon became the beginning of a new me.
As soon as I was asked by my hair stylist what I wanted to with my hair, I didn’t give it a second thought. I asked for an undercut, layers, and bright red hair. If I was getting a makeover, I’m getting it full on with no inhibitions.

I haven’t had a chance to get this much of a drastic change with my hair because I’ve had my fair share of salon disappointments. Many times, my hair wouldn’t turn out the way I wanted it to. So, I’d stick to highlights and trims and normal hair colors. This was the first time that I chose to get my whole hair bleached and colored and get an undercut to boot!
As soon as I felt the razor touch my skin, my heart started to pound. There was no turning back.

After shaving off my hair from the back of my head, bleaching my hair for about an hour, and coloring it for another almost-hour, a new me had emerged. I literally couldn’t stop smiling when I saw my new look in the mirror, and while the shaved part of my hair is still taking a bit of getting used to, it still felt liberating.

Weeks after my new hair color, it is still just as bright as the day I got it! Yes, the hairstylist of Status Hair Salon are very excellent at what they do. To be honest, my bright red hair has been causing lots of double takes and positive comments from all sorts of people–even strangers!
