Baeksang Arts Awards, also known as Paeksang Arts Awards, honors outstanding achievements in the South Korean entertainment industry. It’s basically the “Oscars of Korea” so you can imagine how big of a deal it is to receive a nomination.
It looks like the Baeksang Arts Awards panel of judges has their work cut out for them this year. Going head to head in the Best Actor for a Television Drama category are Hyun Bin and Park Seo Joon!

Hyun Bin was nominated for his performance of Captain Ri Jeong Hyeok in Crash Landing on You, while Park Seo Joon was recognized for his portrayal of Park Sae-Ro-Yi in Itaewon Class. Joining them in the Best Actor category is Kang Ha Neul for When the Camellia Blooms, Namgoong Min for Stove League, and Ju Ji Hoon for Hyena.
The Best Actress category is also fiercely competitive with the nominations being Kim Hye-soo for Hyena, Gong Hyo-jin for When The Camellia Blooms, Kim Hee-ae for World of the Married, IU for Hotel Del Luna and Son Ye-jin for Crash Landing On You.
The 56th awards ceremony will be held on June 5 at Kintex in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province. It honors the cast and crew of TV shows, films, and theater productions released between April 1, 2019 and April 30, 2020.
