Human Rewilding is the Social Media Detox of 2019

In this generation, everything and anyone is reachable online. From reading your favorite book to contacting your loved ones, almost everything can be reached with just one tap. But do you ever feel the need to unplug at times? The internet can be (a bit) toxic and sometimes disconnecting to it is one way to restart and refresh from all the toxicity.

Human rewilding is 2019’s digital detox. As per Lisa B. Nelson, MD, Director of Medical Education at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, rewilding is a term used in the field of nature conservancy that refers to the practice of allowing land to return to its natural state in order to restore, repair, and rebalance ecosystems previously under threat. In other words, this is a way for us to restore and repair ourselves too because human rewilding is about reconnecting with nature. What’s in it for you? Taking time out from the modern world enhances our immune system, reduced cortisol levels, lowers blood pressure, and increases the chance of being in a good mood and feeling relaxed.

Human rewilding is an organic way to steer your life in a healthier direction. Whether you’re out for a hike or filling in some vitamin sea into your system, a break from the digital world can be a need to most of us.

When and where is your next “human rewilding”?
